Common Children Delicate Fade ©1997 Tattoo
Records
A beautiful melancholy and haunting blend of light guitar, violin, and cello provide an intro to the lyrics
of "Stains Of Time" that welcome the listener to the last installment of Common Children: "When the sunshine burns the
darkness Remove the veil that lingers on Your Face The stains of time still mark us Standing in the aftermath
of grace" If stoner, psychedelic, post-grunge rock could provide a backdrop to honest, intimate lyrics, this would be
cutting it close to perfection. You hear all of Marc Byrd's tendencies coming through at some point throughout Delicate Fade
from a layered wall of distortion, whether guitar or voice, to soft ambience to a template for his wife, Christine Glass,
to join in. A very enjoyable disc this is.
