Take a short step back in time, make a playlist of Creed, Stone Temple Pilots, and whatever other hard rock of choice,
and you have a glimpse of Aeonian's grinding music. From New Windsor, NY, this foursome is a step behind the curve, but I
can live with that.
The thing that keeps me listening to The Torch is the unique guitar work throughout. The solos have a slight minor bent,
as well as the song structure. I like dark stuff. It is from the circumstances and pain of life that we can even rise up and
have faith, making us stronger believers as we work out our salvation daily. "Father" is a take on the prodigal
son story that brings the pain to light.
Wearing the past on your sleeve tends to work if that post-arena rock sound hasn't already become passé. Modern rock radio
buried this stuff into the ground back in to '90's, as they attempted to separate themselves from the classic rock radio stations.
I am talking overkill here. An occasional diet of the '90's scene is not a bad thing, just done in moderation of course.
