Cornerstone, the magazine, came out in 1975 and put the Jesus People, USA of Chicago, Illinois on the national map.  This revolutionary periodical set the tone for transition between the Jesus Movement and its many branches into the American culture.

The zine was the collective product of the most influential Christian community in the Christian Rock music sub-culture...JPUSA, who absorbed the best of the underground society and started putting out on several levels, especially artistically.  The magazine complemented their inner-city work, discipline, social justice, the Holy Ghost Players, their hard rock Resurrection Band, and all the other ministries that eminated from the adults and kids within the JPUSA sphere.

Along with the great writing, graphics, and vibe, the Rez Band helped propel the Cornerstone mag to a place of vital influence, as did the 1984 introduction of the Cornerstone Festival, which remains the coolest Christian Rock event on the planet.
