We took a crew of 15 campers to the first JPUSA Cornerstone Festival at their new property in Bushnell, Illinois.
It turned out to be a fantastic and historic event for us Western New Yorkers, as well as the other fest-goers.
It was a long trip from Buffalo through New york through Pennsylvania through Ohio through Indiana through Illinois to
our final desination out in the cornfields, next to the Mississippi River. It was better than the old Grays Lake location
north of Chicago, on the Wisconsin border.
We had minimal camping equipment, but the great concerts and seminars made up for the inconveniences. We focused
on water, food, shelter, sleep, and the Bible.

We had 4 veterans and 11 rookies at the New York campsite that year. Most of us were just out of college and working...single
and poor, but committed to God and the local church. We bought the music of the artists we saw at C-Stone, and most
of us were part of the same home group...back in Buffalo and Rochester. Half were musicians. All were lovers of
music and worship.

We were able to get front seats at the Main Stage and the other tents around the festival, and we got a few photos
of our adventures. We were able to see concerts by Bloodgood, rez, Chagall Guvera, Charlie Peacock, Jacob's Trouble,
Adam Again, The Choir, One Bad Pig (who were filming for a video), and LSU on the Beach Stage.
We fortunately struck up a friendship with Jacob's Trouble, who were from Georgia. We loved their Beatlesque music,
and over the next few years, we hooked up with them at more festivals and even invited them to Buffalo for a concert.
They even played at our megachurch during a Sunday service, and we took them for a visit to Niagara Falls.
